FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITY
THE TUTORING CENTER ® FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITY
TRENDS & FACTS ABOUT CHILDREN’S FRANCHISES
1. The market for children’s services and products is huge and growing. According to the latest U.S. Census, there are more than 74 million children in the United States (or about 1/4 of the national population). This number is projected to increase to approximately 80.3 million by 2030. 2. Spending on children is also rising. A trend that children's franchise owners often point out is that people are having children later in life, in their 30s as opposed to their 20s. In most cases, older parents are more fi nancially stable, meaning that they have additional money to spend on their children's development. 3. An increase in lifespan is also driving an increase in spending. Grandparents have more years to spend money on their grandchildren. Kids themselves now have more personal money to spend as well. 4. It’s estimated that parents will spend about $170,000 - $400,000 to raise a child from birth to 18 years old (dependent upon income level). Expenses include child care, education, health care, and clothing, housing, food, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. As a proportion of total child-rearing expenses, housing accounts for the largest share. Child care/education and food are the next largest average expenditures. 5. The New York Times estimates that American families spend over $16 billion in the summer alone on children (activities and child care). FRANCHISE DIRECT/ INDUSTRY / CHILDREN’S FRANCHISE
Education and after-school learning is one of the most important growth industries in the United States. Helping children in your community achieve academic success, motivation, and con fi dence is an incredibly rewarding experience and continues to be one of the most important issues facing our country. The U.S. educational market continues to grow year after year. Tremendous opportunity exists for the private sector to provide outside supplemental services and to take advantage of the growing student population, while at the same time fi nding ways to streamline the inef fi ciency that exists in schools today. THE EDUCATION MARKET The market for supplemental education is growing and growing. The fi nancial opportunity this represents for our Franchisees is very rewarding. If you are considering investing in a franchise, supplemental education is a great option.

OUR GOAL FOR STUDENTS
#1 GOAL OF THE TUTORING CENTER ® At T HE T UTORING C ENTER® we have found that children who are successful in school have strong academic skills in reading, math, and writing. Stronger academic skills lead to better grades in the classroom. Most successful students have test scores in reading, writing, and math that are six months to one year ahead of their current grade levels . Therefore, as a Franchisee, your primary goal is to get your students ahead of grade level. T HE T UTORING C ENTER® System will help the children of your community dramatically improve their math, reading, and writing skills while also increasing their concentration span. We accomplish this with our system of One-To- One Instruction combined with The Rotational Approach to Learning TM .
VERY REASONABLE TUITION RATES NO LONG-TERM CONTRACTS
Recommended tuition rates are considered very reasonable for the intense, individualized, top-quality One-To-One Instruction we provide. And, we have set up our tuition rates to be very family-friendly. It is easier than ever for a family to send two or three children to your center because we offer substantial family discounts. Also, because students enrolled at your Center for more than 12 months have shown remarkable progress and growth, families are encouraged to stay longer by reducing their tuition after one year. Current tuition rates are posted on each Franchisee’s website. Franchisees are free to modify these rates based on several factors, including the area their Center is located.
The primary goal is to get students ahead of grade level by utilizing our system of One-To- One Instruction combined with The Rotational Approach to Learning TM .
As a new Franchisee, you’ll be happy to know that over 80% of the families that visit your Center for information will actually enroll.

OVERVIEW OF OUR INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD
The Rotational Approach To Learning™
How does “The Rotational Approach to Learning™” rapidly increase academic skills and concentration span? Intensive research over two decades indicates that students who learn in short 30, 15, and 15 minute increments while working at three different locations, with three different sets of materials, with two different instructors, combined with a strong behavior modi fi cation program at each station, rapidly increased academic skills and increased concentration span when compared to other learning environments like classroom, small group, computer, or even one to one home tutoring.

FRANCHISEE TESTIMONIALS
TESTIMONIAL #1 - MICHAEL MURPHY
Good Afternoon Dr. Thalheimer,
I have some free time this afternoon and wanted to take advantage of this rarity to again thank you for this opportunity.
One of the reasons we selected THE TUTORING CENTER was because of the processes and Best Practices that were in place...we didn't want to reinvent the wheel. They have contributed in multiple ways to our success.
We have an outstanding team of instructors who deliver the product in an exceptional way. This captures the parents’ and teachers’ attention easily and allows us to ask every parent at every meeting for referrals. We hand deliver our initial test results, Parent Release Form, and letter of introduction within 2 to 3 days of enrollment. We use this time to develop a relationship with key of fi ce personnel. We have sent out letters of introduction to principals and of fi ce managers where we have students. We even had 2 principals invite us to their schools because of these letters and our results. I have attended 10 IEPs (what a gold mine!), and as a result, I expect the Resource Directors in each school to be one of our largest sources of referrals. Our students’ progress tests are taking place during the summer. So we are currently putting together a delivery schedule for late August when all teachers are back in school. I know we will gain some strong momentum from this activity. And in closing, we just like to say "We are excited about the future!!!"

TESTIMONIAL #2 - HELEN YOUNG What an exciting journey it has been becoming a Franchisee of The Tutoring Center. I am very thankful and appreciative of the tremendous support I have received from Dr. Thalheimer, Franchise Support, my FRANCHISEE TESTIMONIALS
Franchise Mentor, and the fabulous easy-to-follow System. Without this support, I would not be enjoying the tremendous difference The Tutoring Center, Flower Mound TX is making for so many children and their parents in our community. Although I had successfully worked in corporate America for 27 years, I had no idea how to open and run a business, but The Tutoring Center Franchise has made that possible for me. The Franchise Support Team addressed my questions and concerns and provided ongoing training on the System and the Marketing Plan. I also received the additional support of my Franchise Mentor who shared in our excitement and joy as our Center has grown. I now get to spend my time making a difference in the lives of children. Just the other day I had a parent tell me: “We had tried everything to help our daughter to read. We had her tested for dyslexia, and when the results came back negative, we just did not know what to do. Then, we enrolled her at The Tutoring Center. We just received her report card, and she went from C’s to A’s in reading, and best of all, her con fi dence is up, she’s happy, and she loves going to The Tutoring Center.” The difference we make for families is my dream come true!
Helen Young, Center Director THE TUTORING CENTER, Flower Mound TX
